An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Rheumatology department at Mile End Hospitals for a band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Biologics. This is an exciting position which offers a great opportunity for a highly motivated nurse with special interest in Biologics used to treat different types of Rheumatologic conditions. The post will be supported by the senior Clinical Nurse Specialist team within the department as well as the medical and pharmacy teams. Full training will be provided to develop your skills, with a view to management of patients on biologic treatments as required.
▪ In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary team the post
holder will be involved in the care and management of rheumatology
patients on Biologics.
▪ They will ensure patients receive the highest standard of clinical care
through a patient-focused initiation programme.
▪ As a nursing expert the post holder will demonstrate a high level of
expertise within the Rheumatology team, providing advice, education
and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.
▪ The post holder will have an understanding of the use of biologics in
Inflammatory conditions as well as connective tissue disorders.
▪ The post holder will have the ability to run day case clinics as well as
manage biologics prescriptions.
▪ The post holder will measure and monitor the biologics implementation
pathway.
▪ The post holder will actively undertake and participate in clinical audit
and service evaluation within Rheumatology as required.
▪ The post holder is responsible for contributing to the ongoing
development of clinical practice, standards of care within the
rheumatology service including the development of policies, procedures,
protocols and guidelines.
