Summary
Blue Arrow are recruiting for an Outdoor Campus Cleaning Operatives to work at a prestigious University based in Manchester City Centre.
Hours of work are 7am - 2.30pm Monday - Friday with a 30 minute break at 12pm, so 35 hours a week.
£12.66 per hour
The main tasks are as follows:
- Litter picking
- Emptying external waste/recycling bins
- External manual and mechanical cleaning/sweeping of the main campus
- Collection and disposal of syringes and other drug paraphernalia
- Removal and disposal of biological waste deposits
- Leaf collection
- Collection of redundant furniture
- Collection of electrical equipment (WEEE) and items such as fridges and freezers
- Collection of bulky items (including wood, pallets, packaging) and other items on request
- Collection of metals, glass products, paper, magazines and polystyrene
- Cleaning of bin stores and bike shed areas including the removal/disposal/recycling of abandoned bikes and bike locks/chains
- Grit spreading and snow clearance in conjunction with Landscape Services staff
Ideally we are looking for candidates who have a clean driving licence and have previous Cleaning or Grounds Maintenance experience.
It would be desirable if candidates have road sweeping experience however this is not essential.
Candidates must be comfortable working outside as you will be required to do tasks like litter picking and emptying external bins.
This is long term work that may lead to a permanent position.
