Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Location: Alcester, B49
Job Type: Part-Time
Working Hours: 25 hours per week
Reports to: Payroll Manager
To ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, maintaining compliance with current legislation and internal policies. The Payroll Clerk will support the finance team with payroll-related queries, data entry, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:-
Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner

Maintain employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, benefits, tax codes, and statutory deductions

Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies

Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and redundancy pay

Manage pension contributions and liaise with pension providers

Assist with year-end tasks such as P60s and P11Ds
-
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with internal audits

Handle employee queries relating to payslips, tax codes, and holiday pay

Support HR and Finance with payroll-related reporting and data

Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices
Requirements:Essential:

Previous experience in a payroll processing role

Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements (PAYE, NI, RTI)

Experience using payroll software

Good Excel and data entry skills

High attention to detail and confidentiality

Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
-
CIPP qualification or working towards it
-
Experience with auto-enrolment pensions
-
Knowledge of HR systems and integration with payroll
