Crynodeb
The main purpose of this role is to provide companionship and support to an elderly woman with intermediate / advanced dementia Alzheimer’s, chronic loneliness, and increasing problems with mobility.
We are looking for a personal assistant / companion who is friendly and serene, with a good sense of humour. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can keep the lady stimulated by, for example, being able to engage in simple activities like arts and crafts, playing music and dvd's, dancing and sing-along songs. Most of the care required will be in-home with the potential to go out for short walks, trips to local shops, visits to private communal garden area, social trips to cafes etc (by bus or car) as required.
In addition, you will be required to help with various aspects of physical care, such as helping someone in and out of a chair, visits to a toilet, changing of incontinence products, personal hygiene and cleaning etc.
Experience of working with someone with dementia (intermediate to advanced) is essential. Experience of assisting and supporting someone with reduced physical needs would also be helpful. Patience, understanding, and empathy are important for this position.
16 hours per week, comprising of 4 x 4 hour shifts per week.
Various shifts are available and flexibility will be required. However, this post primarily requires evenings and weekend work, with shifts typically running from 5.30pm-9.30pm.

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
