Crynodeb
Julian is a 26-year-old young man, with mild global delays and Autism. He is very gentle and generally even tempered. He is very sociable and enjoys talking with people his own age and going out to spend money in the shops. He enjoys watching TV especially watching comedy cartoons e.g. Family Guy and South Park and playing his PS5. He is also very knowledgeable on films and actors of all genres.
Together, you could be watching Basketball, (Julian volunteers at the Caledonian Gladiators on match days) or visiting the town centre shops or even trying something new. Julian does not like going out on his own and you would be required to encourage him to get up and out to partake in activities.
You’ll support Julian with learning general household skills, including cooking and cleaning. Prompting to ensure clean clothes are ready for him to put on and his personal hygiene is adequate.
The ideal match is someone with a good sense of humour, willing to engage in social outings who can encourage Julian to participate in activities. Julian is very lethargic and inclined to stay in bed without prompting or encouragement.
Julian lives in East Kilbride, so it’s important you’re comfortable working in this area.”
This role involves 11 hours per week, Temporary Maternity Cover ending 31 July 2025 @ £12.60 per hour with a degree of flexibility.
While experience with Autism is helpful, someone who can use their initiative and encourage Julian is most important.
