Job Title: HR Advisor (Maternity Cover)
Location: Somerset
Salary: £30,900 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9am–5pm)
Contract: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover, starting July 2025)
A prestigious and dynamic private school is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced HR Advisor to join its Human Resources team on a maternity cover basis from July.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a busy and high-performing HR function within a respected organisation that values professionalism, integrity, and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide first-line HR advice to staff and support line managers with employee relations matters including absence management and performance concerns
• Generate reports and conduct data analysis to support strategic HR planning
• Take accurate notes during formal meetings and hearings
• Manage staff probation processes and ensure timely reviews
• Maintain compliance across HR policies and procedures
• Respond to day-to-day HR queries in a timely and supportive manner
• Keep employee records accurate and up-to-date using the iTrent HR system
• Audit and maintain the Single Central Register of Appointments
• Assist in preparing salary letters and related HR documentation
Person Specification:
• Proven HR experience with strong knowledge of employment law
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Experience using HR systems such as iTrent is desirable
• Able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
