Accounts Assistant – Rugby

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum, depending on experience

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and ready to grow your career in finance? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our friendly finance team based in Rugby.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in accounts to expand their skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day finance operations including purchase and sales ledger

  
  

• Process supplier invoices, match and code appropriately

  
  

• Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts

  
  

• Support month-end procedures including accruals, journals, and reporting

  
  

• Handle employee expenses and petty cash claims

  
  

• Raise customer invoices and allocate payments

  
  

• Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve invoice or payment queries

  
  

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with audit preparation

  
  What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or finance admin role

    
    

  • Strong numerical and organisational skills

    
    

  • Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)

    
    

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    
    

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

    
    

  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude

    
    Desirable:

    • AAT qualification or studying towards

      
      

    • Experience in a high-volume transactional environment

      
      

    • Familiarity with ERP systems
