Crynodeb
To sustain a high-quality service within the multi-professional team. Manage an active caseload of children and their carers, which will include pre-diagnosis assessment, undertaking school observation visits as part of the diagnostic assessment management of medication, parental support and crisis support, undertaking home observation visits when necessary ry. To prescribe/administer a limited number of drugs in accordance with Patient Group Directives.. To be knowledgeable about local/national guidelines and to be fully aware of medical treatments and current research trials, relevant to work area. To use development assessment tools that will ensure an appropriate level of nursing intervention so that patients who present with the most complex needs are referred to the appropriate specialist. To run nurse-led clinics whereby the problems and needs of patients with a neurodevelopmental condition and their carers are appropriately managed. To reduce outpatient waiting times for patients. To develop and lead parent-training groups for behavioural management e.g. Webster Stratton Groups.
