The role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Lawyer to join our client’s Legal Services team. This is a leadership role providing high-level legal advice and managing a team of lawyers supporting multiple public sector bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support a legal team handling complex, high-value, and sensitive matters.
Provide strategic legal advice across a range of public law areas.
Lead legal input into key projects, frameworks, and governance across partner authorities.
Coach, develop and resource plan for a busy, multi-authority legal team.
Maintain excellent client relationships and drive service improvement.
What the client is looking for:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with current practising certificate
Strong legal management experience
Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic skills
Able to work hybrid (office attendance at least once per fortnight; more preferred)
Advocacy not required
