An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the North East London Diabetes Eye Screening Programme as an Apprentice Administration Assistant.
This apprenticeship role offers a valuable introduction to working within the NHS and provides hands-on experience in a busy healthcare environment. You will support the administrative functions of the screening service, which plays a vital role in the early detection and prevention of diabetes related eye disease.

This role involves providing a crucial first point of contact for patients, ensuring all incoming telephone calls are answered in a timely manner. Key responsibilities include booking and rescheduling clinic appointments for patients attending the diabetes eye screening clinics and arranging hospital transport for those who require assistance. Additionally, the position will involve helping with general administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the North East London Diabetes Eye Screening Programme.
• Provide the first point of contact for patients, carers and visitors attending the Diabetes eye screening clinics.
• To ensure that incoming telephone calls are responded to in a timely fashion and to ensure that the reception is manned at all times.
• Booking and rescheduling clinic appointments for patients attending the Retinal screening clinic.
