In your new role as a Guano Cleaning Operative on ship you will be required to remove and clean guano (bird droppings) from Ship compartments, ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order and meet all agreed SLAs. The goal is to ensure thorough cleaning, eliminating health hazards, and mitigating risks of structural damage caused by guano deposits while ensuring that the individual working is adequately trained for shipyard environments.
The individual carrying out the work must complete a ship environment induction (provided by BAE Systems) and be familiar with the below:
Proper guano handling and disposal procedures to minimize health risks.Use of approved cleaning agents and equipment.Working safely in shipbuilding environments with potential hazards such as working at height or within confined spaces.
You will be required to work within a team and can work under their own initiative. You will need to build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, deliver excellent customer service and seek ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
In order to be successful in this role you will need have the ability to communicate and read basic English, previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential and have a flexible approach to the role. You will need to be open, honest, self-driven and determined. You'll need to be reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
