Join our Rail team as an Eastern Team Organiser as part of the Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work. The role is based from our depot in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Our CRSA offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with partner organisations across the rail industry. CRSA has been created to make a positive impact on the UK track renewals industry by drawing on the strengths of all alliance partners and collaborative working.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake general office administration duties including control of all mail,
    coordinating diaries, processing and maintaining personnel records
    including vulnerable assets such as mobile telephones, make necessary
    returns;
  • Set up new starters with logins and all IT ordering and keep all
    contact & depot distribution lists up to date;
  • Arrange travel, hotels, short term and long term hire vehicles/fuel cards and permit to drive for new starters;
  • Organise meetings and the production, collation and dissemination of
    documentation for and resulting from them, take minutes when required
    and follow up actions from the meeting;
  • Provide a consistent telephone presence on behalf of the team delivering
    excellent customer service levels;
  • Maintain an efficient filing system paying particular attention to records of
    standing meetings, statuary records and authorisations;
  • Utilise financial and procurement systems and act as Local Purchasing
    Agent (where directed) ordering stationary and other office consumables
    and providing support to the delivery team to use these systems to procure
    site-based equipment, plant or materials as required;
  • Report team problems e.g: IT and office facilities and monitor response;
  • Undertake administrative tasks as directed including technical literature
    searches for the team;
  • Facilitate with the depots senior leadership cascades.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:
  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly SharePoint;
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to multitask;
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • Previous experience of working in a pressurised environment.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of the rail industry would be an advantage;
  • A recognised qualification in administration/office management;
  • Ability to drive.
