Crynodeb
Main duties of the role - Reviewing patients with Long Term Conditions to record routine measurements, offering disease management advice in accordance with the practices clinical protocols. Carry out ECGs. Blood pressure monitoring Phlebotomy Obtaining specimens e.g. urine, and testing as instructed and completing appropriate laboratory forms and contacting patients to follow up results. Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses, ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed Routine Preventative adult Immunisations B12 vaccinations Basic wound care/ulcer care and removal of sutures Ear irrigation Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted, provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the Practice To undertake Extended Hours/Access shifts. To undertake home visits for patients requiring care at home. Refer to Job Description for full range of duties.
