Summary

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: Inspecting all personnel for whom they are responsible at intervals in line with The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines and providing follow up treatment as required. Providing an occupational oral health assessment, being fully conversant with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Dental Fitness categorisation and dental input into the Joint Medical Employment Standard for Service personnel. Work collaboratively with professional colleagues and in the best interests of patients Ensuring that surgery management, documentation including consumable stores, the safe custody of personal sensitive data and the maintenance of equipment is always kept to a high standard. Onward referral of personnel to enhanced practitioners, specialists, or consultants for treatment as appropriate. Ministry of Defence Dentists are to be prepared to travel to and work from dental centres within the region other than their normal place of work if requested by Senior Dental Officer/Line Manager. Ministry of Defence Dentists may be required to Line Manage lower roles/grades (Civilian or Military) within the centre, this obligation will be discussed and agreed with the individual and all reporting policies and procedures are to be followed For further details, please see the attached Terms of Reference.
