Harper Adams University is officially recognised as a world-leading specialist institution and in 2023 secured Gold status in the Teaching Excellence Framework for the third time. The University excels in employability, with an outstanding performance in relation to graduate outcomes and award-winning services, 2025 was our ninth consecutive win at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards for Careers Prospects.

In this newly created post, you will lead the Careers and Employability Service, overseeing the development of an inclusive employability and careers service. This includes leading the development of and managing inclusive work-based learning opportunities and providing career education and guidance to support students in pursuing graduate roles or further study.

You will work with course teams and other professional services to ensure that employability is embedded within our new Harper Forward curriculum model, in which six graduate attributes are embedded.

This new role has been created because of internal changes and now sits in the directorate of Business Engagement to optimise the services the University provides to industry including work-based learning in all forms.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have

• Educated to degree level or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Post-graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance or equivalent).
• Experience of leading or managing a careers, employability, and/or recruitment service.
• Knowledge of the Higher Education graduate employment market, business talent strategies and issues affecting recruitment practice.
