Personal Assistant required in RHYL
JOB REF – DCC/PA/47756
16.5 hours per week – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12-5:30pm.
£13.25 per hour
Personal assistant required, funded through a direct payment, to enable a teenage male to safely access the local community, attend groups and activities as well as pursue his own likes and interests under full adult 1:1 supervision.
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support a happy, caring, animal loving 19-year-old male to enable him to access the local community and attend different groups and activities of his choice under 1:1 supervision of a responsible adult.
My son enjoys going on walks, playing video games, building Lego models, going to the cinema and visiting the local petting farm. He would greatly benefit from the support of a personal assistant to enable him to access activities of his choice as well as developing his confidence and life skills while out in the community. My son is a vulnerable young person who has no understanding of the potential dangers around him which means he requires 1:1 supervision to maintain his safety at all times.
We are looking for a kind, patient and understanding person who my son would enjoy spending time with while pursuing hobbies and interests in the community.
Main Duties
To support the individual …
• To access community based activities, clubs and groups.
• To access hobbies and interests such as swimming, going to the gym, nature walks, cinema, rides in car and dog walking.
• To develop life skills while accessing the local community.
• To develop social skills and build confidence when out in the community.
Essential skills/experience:
• Experience of working with young people.
• Experience of working with complex additional needs – specific details to be provided at interview.
• Full driving license and access to own vehicle.
• Reference.
Benefits
• 5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro-rata)
• Sick pay at SSP rate (if applicable)
• Access to training
• Free DBS check
