We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Handy Person to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a good mechanical and electrical aptitude and a passion for working with vehicles / plant.
This role involves diagnosing and repairing various types of vehicles or plant, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy. This may involve replacing mirrors, fitting light markers, LED roof beacons, safe stow roof racks, replacing bulbs, replacing trailer jockey wheels, plug sockets and hundreds of other weird and wonderful requirements.
The idea candidate will need to have a positive can do mindset, be able to identify solutions and be self driven.
As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our fleet of vehicles and plant and ensuring they are safe for our teams to use.
Duties
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
Utilise diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
Repair or replace faulty components using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working in the workshop.
Collaborate with team members to improve service efficiency and quality.
Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for vehicle repair and maintenance.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail when diagnosing issues.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers when required.
