Crynodeb
Working within the specialist technical team with the responsibility of producing accurate and timely timetables to students and staff, the post holder will coordinate and collect the academic programme data to support the build, maintenance and management of the University’s core online registration and timetabling systems.
The post holder will support accurate allocation of module choices and through professional liaison with academic and administrative colleagues to develop effective and efficient teaching and exams timetables that meets the needs of the students and staff and optimises the space utilisation of the University campus.
As part of Registry services, the post holder will be responsible for taking part in delivering Registry strategy objectives.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To assist the Deputy Academic Registrar and Timetabling Manager in all matters relating to the Timetable interface with other areas of the University administration.
To develop and maintain and in-depth understanding of specialist student systems, e.g. Syllabus Plus and Allocator, and an awareness off how they interact with other corporate systems.
To develop and maintain an understanding of relevant business processes and data requirements for providing, exploiting and reporting of management information.
To deploy professional face to face and written communication to advise and guide academic and administrative staff and support the process for developing Allocator and the teaching and exams timetables, including modules requirements, teaching patterns and resource management.
To co-ordinate the business processes for module registration and timetabling and to understand the interdependencies between processes to ensure data quality.
To manage ad-hoc room bookings for the University and liaise closely with colleagues within conference services to ensure the sharing of information in relation to space utilisation.
To liaise with stakeholders at all levels including senior management of the University and to manage complex and confidential information sensitively and professionally.
To develop, deploy and maintain complex reports using data held in a range of university systems.
To develop and deliver training on student systems in appropriate formats for a range of users.
To construct timetables, taking into account the University’s strategic priorities including student experience and optimum space utilisation.
To ensure the continuous improvement of timetable process and procedures that responds proactively to the needs of the University.
To be an active citizen within the University willing to assist in University-wide projects and events, such as Open Days and Graduation ceremonies.
To undertake any other requirements commensurate with the seniority of the post/as required by the Head of Service.
