Part-Time Mentor to work with excluded children and young people across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
setting in Wolverhampton.This is a unique opportunity to support vulnerable students in alternative education settings across remote and satellite locations
throughout the city.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Support students in developing resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
- Travel to various PRU sites and outreach locations across Wolverhampton.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them re-engage with learning.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people in education, youth work, or alternative provision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple sites across Wolverhampton.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a PRU or similar setting.
- Qualifications in youth work, counselling, or education support.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage allowance available).
