Summary
Job Title: Plant Mechanic
Location: Wrexham Head Office / Site
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Part-Time/Full-Time) with Potential for Extension
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–16:00 (30-minute lunch break daily)
Trek Recruitment is excited to partner with our valued client to find a dedicated Plant Mechanic to maintain and repair plant equipment, ensuring top performance and reliability. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive workshop environment, showcasing your technical skills and contributing to seamless site operations.
THE ROLE
Service, inspect, and repair plant equipment (e.g., wacker plates, breakers, compressors, generators, disc cutters).
Perform preventative maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Accurately document faults, repairs, and parts usage.
Assist with workshop tasks, including loading, unloading, and organising equipment.
Operate a tele-handler to move tools, plant, and materials as needed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with site teams to coordinate timely equipment servicing.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and yard, including stock monitoring and weekly checks.
YOU
Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic - plant equipment repair and maintenance (construction industry experience preferred; in-house training available).
Strong knowledge of petrol/diesel engines, electrical tools, and hydraulic systems.
Valid full driving licence and tele-handler licence (essential).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
Flexible, proactive, and safety-conscious attitude.
