Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant who is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions, is required for a Schools Trust, based in Leicester, Leicestershire.

TRAINING PROVIDED – NO KITCHEN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Whilst some Kitchen experience is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate


SALARY: £12.80 per hour

LOCATION: Leicester, Leicestershire (LE5) – Fully Site Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week – Term Time Only

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant who is a fast learner with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.

As the Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant you will support the kitchen and food & beverage team to keep everything running smoothly.

Working as the Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant you will ensure all kitchen areas are clean and tidy, ensuring crockery and cutlery are ready for service, and assisting with food preparation.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Kitchen Porter / General Catering Assistant will include:

• Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, staff canteens and kitchen corridors

• The washing of all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff

• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry

• Communicate effectively with all staff


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

• Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner

• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety

• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

• Previous kitchen / catering or Front of House experience is desirable
