Summary


South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) is seeking experienced and motivatedBank General Practitionersto join ourIntegrated Urgent Care Clinical Assessment Service (IUC CAS). This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing some of the most complex and time-sensitive patient cases via our 111 and 999 services.

As a senior clinician in our dynamic and supportive team, you’ll work remotely and/or from our EOCs in Crawley and Medway, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care through telephone and video consultations. • Provide definitive clinical assessments and decision-making support for patients accessing urgent and emergency care services.
• Offer clinical advice and guidance to non-medical colleagues, including operational managers and frontline staff.
• Act as a mentor and clinical leader, promoting best practice and shared learning.
• Manage high-acuity and complex cases efficiently, ensuring patient safety and optimal care pathways.
• Liaise directly with healthcare professionals and services to coordinate patient care and onward referrals.
• Participate in continuous clinical quality improvement initiatives and thematic learning.
• Commit to out-of-hours availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, in line with service needs.

Other than in exceptional circumstances, the starting salary for staff new to the NHS will be the bottom point of the band to which they have been appointed.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Deliveringsafe, efficient, and high-quality clinical assessmentsvia telephone and video consultations.
• Providing leadership, mentorship and clinical guidanceto the wider contact centre team.
• Assisting withtriage decisions and managing workload acuityduring operational shifts.
• Contributing to governance, quality assurance, and shared learning initiatives.
• Ensuring patient safety and appropriate care pathways through collaboration with other services and healthcare providers.
• Upholding SECAmb’s commitment tosafeguarding, equality, and diversityin every patient interaction.

Additional Requirements:
• Registered GP withat least two years’ autonomous practice.
• GMC registration and inclusion on the GP Performers List.
• Experience intriage, urgent care, or emergency medicinesettings desirable.
• Proficient communication skills and IT literacy essential.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours and public holidays.
