The role:
This role, based in the Council’s Customer Centre, involves handling and resolving customer enquiries about the Garden Waste Service via phone, in person, and online. It plays a vital part in upholding the Council’s Customer Charter by delivering excellent service to a diverse range of customers.
Key responsibilities:
Act as the Council’s ambassador and first contact, prioritising quick, effective customer query resolution.
Handle calls professionally and efficiently, logging contacts, raising service requests, and processing payments via the CRM
Greet customers at the Customer Centre and assist with online reporting, applications, and payments
Manage reception duties at central sites, responding promptly to enquiries.
Keep up-to-date with Council services to guide or direct customers accurately
Escalate issues to the Customer Centre Coordinator or relevant teams as needed
What the client is looking for:
NVQ2 in Customer Care or equivalent qualification is desirable
Proficient IT skills
Excellent customer service skills
Experience of working in a customer facing role
Experience of data entry into customer systems
Knowledge of local government and its services
