Our client is seeking a talented and compassionate Sous Chef to join their team at their beautifully designed luxury care home nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated chef with experience in a care setting to make a meaningful impact—creating delicious, nourishing meals tailored to individual needs in a calm, high-quality environment.

As Sous Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional mealtimes for residents, preparing fresh dishes that consider allergies, modified diets, and personal preferences. Your attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to safe, person-centred catering will help ensure every plate served brings comfort and joy.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a care home or healthcare environment
  • Solid understanding of special diets, food allergies, and modified texture foods
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
  • A genuine passion for food and care
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Organised, proactive, and respectful of residents' dignity and choices

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals
  • Adapt dishes to meet special dietary requirements, including soft diets, allergies, and medical needs
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
  • Help manage kitchen stock, supplies, and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with the wider care and hospitality team to enhance the dining experience
  • Maintain kitchen records and support audits and inspections
