About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and inspirational leader to join a thriving and inclusive 11-18 secondary academy as Deputy Head of Sixth Form. This is a key leadership role within the Sixth Form, supporting the Head of Sixth Form in delivering outstanding academic outcomes and pastoral care. You will be part of a committed and forward-thinking team within the Enterprise Faculty, which includes Business Studies, Computer Science, and Economics. The faculty is well-resourced and supported by experienced leadership, with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Sixth Form.
- Lead on areas such as student progress tracking, attendance, enrichment, and post-18 destinations.
- Work closely with the Head of Sixth Form to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Contribute to the development of the Sixth Form curriculum and enrichment programme.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and external partners.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial teaching experience at Key Stage 5.
- A proven track record of leadership or middle leadership in a secondary or post-16 setting.
- Strong understanding of post-16 education, including UCAS, apprenticeships, and careers guidance.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
- A passion for raising aspirations and supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
