Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.

Our core values are ‘Be open, be compassionate and be bold’ and our team members apply these daily to achieve our mission of helping people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential.

Do you have lived experience of the criminal justice system and substance use? Would you like to use that experience to help and support others? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Recovery Motivator, supporting service users throughout Nottinghamshire to engage with substance use treatment in the community following release from prison. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance use, as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

Where: Nottinghamshire - mainly sites in Hucknall, Worksop and Mansfield.
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hrs per week.
Contract Type: Fixed term contract until 31st of March 2026
Salary: £25,077.00 (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time hours)

About the role:
Meet individuals within prison and the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and encourage individuals to engage with substance use treatment in the community post release
Create links with stakeholders and local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are hard to reach – those who are at risk of being recalled to prison, those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them
Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions
Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies

About you:
Lived experience of the criminal justice system and a history of drug or/and alcohol use
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental toward Service Users
Confident in working alone as well as part of a team
Can remain calm under pressure
Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available
A willingness to undergo Prison Vetting and MOJ Vetting.

What we will give to you:
25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Additionally, you'll receive one extra day of annual leave for each year of service during your first five years, therefore you will enjoy 30 days of leave after five years with us.
Paid ‘Wellness’ hour each week along with a ‘Wellness’ hub and Employee Assist Programme
Contributory pension scheme
A great selection of benefits incl. discounts for shopping, cinema, holidays, etc.
A friendly and supportive team
Training, career development & progression opportunities
Refer a friend scheme and receive vouchers if candidate is successful.

Please ensure that when completing your application form and supporting statement, you reflect on the details outlined in the job description and the role specifics. This will help us understand how your skills and experiences align with the requirements of the role.

Please note: This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level. The post is fixed term until 31/03/2026.

If this sounds like you and you’d like to begin your journey with Change Grow Live, then we’d love to talk to you.
