Basic Salary: £53,000 - £60,000
Location: Manchester
Hours: 4 days a week

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled HGV Technician to join our growing team in Manchester. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities of a HGV Mechanic

• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of HGVs
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in line with industry regulations
• Perform brake, suspension, and axle repairs, as well as welding and structural repairs
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation
• Adhere to health and safety standards while working in a busy workshop environment
• Work effectively with other technicians and contribute to team success

Essential Skills & Qualifications of a HGV Mechanic

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, ideally with experience working on heavy vehicles
• Ability to work independently and to deadlines in a fast-paced workshop
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 preferred but not essential)

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• IRTEC accreditation
• Industry-recognised qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds)
• Tail lift, lifting deck, or double-deck trailer maintenance expertise
