Area Housing Officer
Ashington, Northumberland
Salary: £36,047.00 per annum (inclusive of car allowance).
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

If you’re passionate about delivering outstanding housing services and working collaboratively with colleagues to drive excellent services to our customers, then our Area Housing Officer role is for you.
This role is in our Living Team, who manage our Housing for Older Persons portfolio.
Role Benefits:
28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) for full time employees; pro-rata to part time employees
Working from home up to 2 days per week, if relevant to the role

About the Area Housing Officer Role:
This role will involve:
Delivering front line housing services to include Allocations and Tenancy Management
Lead, motivate and support staff within your team to ensure provision of high quality services, delivered with compassion
Identify opportunities for service improvement, make recommendations and deliver changes effectively
Engage with choice based lettings systems to Allocate properties and minimise void periods
Liaise with internal and external partners to support tenants, ensuring Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Compliance responsibilities are met at all times
Provide customers with the ability to influence policies and service delivery
Ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritising where needed and keeping full and accurate records using a range of IT systems.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver range of services to improve tenants homes and engagement opportunities.
Your Experience:
Successful candidates will need:
Essential:
Experienced in the provision of front line Housing Management services within a Social Housing field
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Experience of working directly with customers, recognising and responding to individual needs
Ability to keep detailed records, using a range of IT systems
Knowledge of Safeguarding, Compliance and Health & Safety responsibilities for social housing landlords
Current and full driving licence and access to car for work
Desirable:
Experience of working within Housing for Older Persons environment
Experience of line management
