Are you ready to challenge yourself in within a management role?

We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Dermatology team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse looking to develop their management skills but also enhance their expertise in the anatomy of skin and contribute to the care of patients with a wide range of skin conditions.

The role will involve staff management and service development across the trust sites, we currently run services covering York, Malton, Selby and Scarborough and are currently looking to widen this to Bridlington. The applicant must be willing to travel when required.

Provide leadership to the clinical team, developing new rotas/ways of working

Line management of junior staff cross-site

To collaborate in the development, implementation and audit of nursing guidelines, standards, policies, protocols and care pathways within Dermatology

To contribute to the departmental audit and emerging initiatives

Provide dermatological education to patients, carers and families

Partake in and assist in theatre for minor operations

Assist consultant dermatologists during out-patient clinics

Implement and change care plans with a holistic approach

Liaise and communicate with other members of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team

Be aware of and demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing practice and research

Contribute to meeting the learning needs of all other team members

Demonstrate a continuing process of attaining educational, research, clinical and leadership

Being the first point of contact to people who may need wound assessments and being able to assess, monitor and deliver wound care advise and initiating action as required

Set, monitor, and seek to continuously improve standards and the quality of patient care, including those standards defined in the National Benchmarks for Essential Care

Manage the staffing of a number of sites ensuring additional requirements are highlighted to the Dermatology Sister
