Post-16 Occupational Therapist.

This role is a Permanent, Full-Time role.

Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 17:00pm.

Annual salary: Competitive Market Rate (dependent on experience)

To Start: ASAP

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist supporting 16 to 19-year-old students who have speech, language and communication difficulties. This role will be based at Blossom House School in Motspur Park.

You will provide an Occupational Therapy service focusing on functional skills, independence and emotional regulation. You will also be responsible for your own caseload delivering therapy in small groups and on an individual basis according to your professional judgement.

We have a great team of experienced staff and you will work collaboratively with Teachers, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Drama Therapists, Music Therapists and Art Therapists.

You will also be responsible for representing the department at meetings, clinical supervision, reports, arranging and delivering training.



The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with HCPC.

• At least 4 years’ experience working as an OT.

• Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning.

• Preferably experience of working with young people with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autism Spectrum, either as an OT or supporting with their mental health.

• Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.

• The ability to build good working relationships with young people, teachers, parents and carers.

• The ability to manage a small group of young people with complex social communication needs.

• The ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment is essential.
