Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the employer who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a 44-year-old female living in the DY10 area of Kidderminster who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support with daily living tasks for up to 8 hours per week.
Our client has Huntington’s disease.
Main duties:
Social duties:
Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
Provide companionship during the day
Assist and support with managing anxiety and mood changes
Personal care: Support with all aspects of personal care.
Domestic duties: Preparation of all drinks and meals. Support to eat and drink – following guidelines from SALT Team.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: Someone with previous care & support worker experience. Must have First Aid training as client has a high risk of choking/aspiration when eating/drinking.
Other: Due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.
Hours of work: 4 – 8 hours per week + Holiday & sick leave cover
Rate of pay: £15 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Driving licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Previous care & support worker experience
First Aid training
Confidentiality
Good at building relationships
Good communicator
A good listener
Ability to support people with complex care & support needs.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
