The Role:

We are seeking an Employee and Industrial Relations Manager to join our HR team at The University of Portsmouth.

Under the direction of the Senior Employee and Industrial Relations Manager you will:

Lead on assigned complex ER casework, sharing expertise and developing the team of Employee Relations Advisers to ensure excellent service
Develop a positive industrial relations culture including the University’s ongoing relationship with its recognised trade unions
Assist in the development, planning and application of change projects, including eg, HR policies, guidance, toolkits, reviews
You will have significant experience of managing relationships with trade unions, expertise in handling employee disputes, and in depth and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation. You must be able to demonstrate excellent negotiation and conflict resolutions skills and be qualified to CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent).

Flexible and hybrid working (with a minimum of 3 days on campus each week) may be available for this role and can be discussed at interview.
