We are currently recruiting for experienced L6 (CIAG) Qualified Careers Adviser to join our Education Development Trust youth careers team from September 2025 to provide careers advice, guidance and support to individuals and groups of young people at school or college.

Role Type:

This is a term time only role, 2 days a week across 2 schools(54 days in total between September 2025 - August 2026) to start from September 2025

Key duties:

One to one guidance interviews and action plan with Year 11 and 12 students and SEND, young carers and vulnerable students
Attendance and support to parents' events, and open evenings.
Updating and maintaining the careers library and display boards
Contributing to newsletters and other ways of engaging parents in their daughters’ careers education
Sharing LMI and careers information via Year Group Teams
Complete CPD appropriate to role and school needs
Supporting the Careers Leader with meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks
Organising an annual Careers Fair (whole school)
Organising career information talks
Annual Year 8 Careers morning
Supporting the Annual Year 10 Interview Day in preparation for WEX
Supporting completion of Careers Compass Evaluations and report on student’s feedback
You will have:

Level 6 qualification in careers guidance (CIAG)
Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting
Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people/labour market information.
Provide careers advice and guidance in a one-to-one setting or group workshop/assemblies to support students with their career aspirations.
Arrange career talks and a range of activities for students.
Have the ability to engage with and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantaged as well as with their parents/carers.
Support the Schools or College Careers Leader to implement and enhance the schools programme to contribute towards meetings the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Demonstrate professional commitment to Children's rights, equal opportunities and diversity.
Undertake administration duties to ensure that all delivery evidence is complete and compliant in line with contract and quality standards.
Experience of working with vulnerable groups and those with special educations needs and disabilities (SEND).


Our Careers Advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team. Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
