We are an OFSTED rated ‘good’ provider and are looking to appoint an ambitious Sewing Tutor who can support our adult learners to develop the skills and confidence to enable them to succeed.
Do you have experience of teaching or training? If so, then give us a call for an informal discussion about joining our team. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who has experience of teaching sewing and wishes to work in the FE sector.
This post is primarily for a Sewing Tutor, however you will also be required to teach some general low-level art and crafts in community settings and schools. Full training for this will be provided for the right candidate.
You will need good communication and organisational skills as you will be responsible for achieving and maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment on non-accredited, entry level and level 1 & 2 courses in both fashion and interiors.
Key duties include:
Carrying out initial assessments to help plan realistic goals and targets
Lesson planning, preparation and delivery
Assessing, recording and meeting individual learner needs
Delivering sessions in a safe, supportive and engaging environment across different locations
Working to the Education Inspection Framework
Essential requirements:
A level 4 teaching qualification is desirable, however we will consider candidates with appropriate experience of teaching or training who are prepared to work towards achieving a level 4 teaching qualification.
A level 3 subject specific qualification in Textiles/Sewing
