Base Location: Lerwick Power Station

Salary: £34,749 - £40,939 depending on skills and experience + shift allowance

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The role

We are looking for a Shift Operator to join the team in Shetland to work at our local Power Station.

You will

- Operate engines and auxiliary plants under the direction and supervision of the Shift Supervisor.

- Carry out routine inspections and plant logs.

- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant and equipment in accordance with company safety standards.

- Follow relevant company procedures and local arrangements to deliver a continuous supply to the Shetland Grid.

You have

- Knowledge of all generating and auxiliary plant elements and a good understanding of various site environmental limits.

- An ability to carry out basic fault finding and be able to recognise plant and system issues is essential.

- An understanding of SSE's company environmental targets and an ability to work within the safety rules.

- Composure when faced with complex issues and capable of performing well under pressure.
