Summary
Job Description:
As an Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) specialising in Food Hygiene and Standards, you will be responsible for inspecting food businesses to ensure compliance with food safety legislation, investigating food complaints, and enforcing hygiene standards. You will assess risks, offer professional advice, issue notices where necessary, and contribute to public health protection through education and regulation. The role may involve both routine and reactive visits, including food sampling and supporting food safety promotional activities.
Key Duties:
Carry out food hygiene and standards inspections.
Investigate complaints and food safety incidents.
Enforce food law and prepare legal reports or evidence.
Advise businesses on compliance and best practice.
Maintain accurate records and produce reports.
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
Degree or diploma in Environmental Health.
Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of food safety legislation.
