Function: Business Delivery
Location: Hybrid, this position will be split between outreach and home-based, although occasional office attendance will be required.
Salary: £22,983- 24,829 (depending on experience)
Status: Part Time or Full Time considered
Hours: 35 hours (FTE)

We are now looking for an Energy Advisor to join our existing team.

The successful applicant will be an efficient and flexible team member who has:
- Experience or knowledge of energy efficiency and fuel poverty programmes
- Experience delivering energy advice or advice work in general
- Demonstrable experience of writing and maintaining case records that confirm to a quality standard
- The ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information and produce and present clear verbal and written reports
- Excellent communication & teamwork skills

A City and Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualification in Energy Advice would be advantageous to your application.

Essential criteria
- Some experience of working in a client facing environment
- Some experience of giving energy, benefit or debt advice and able to comfortably provide advice using different channels such as face to face, over the phone and via email
- Some understanding of funder requirements and working to targets
- Ability to prioritise own workload and that of the team
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Basic IT skill
- Experience of working in a client facing environment
- Commitment to safeguarding principles and practices ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and vulnerable adults who engage with the service.

Advice Delivery

- Delivering energy advice to those at risk of, or in fuel poverty
- Undertaking assessments and offering practical energy saving tips and measures to clients
- Assessing clients and maximising income through benefit calculations as well as through energy schemes and grants
- Advocate and liaise with energy and water suppliers on behalf of clients
- Completing grant applications to trust funds to assist clients in paying for energy arrears
- Record and maintain case records that conform to set quality standards
- Deliver general promotion of the project including attending meetings, community events or workshops
- Deliver light touch energy efficiency training to partner organisations
- Actively promote the positive image of Citizens Advice SORT Group

Performance targets and quality standards
- Keep up to date with changes to the energy industry and support the Manager to ensure all reporting requirements requested by funders or related external partners are met
- Work to agreed goals and targets and actively manage ongoing client caseload
- Assist in the monitoring and collation of research & campaign issues and client success stories
- Encourage good teamwork and lines of communication between all members of staff/volunteers
