Your Role

As a Tutor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional delivery, guidance, and support to learners as they embark on their educational journey. By sharing your expertise and passion for teaching, you will empower individuals to pursue further learning opportunities, engage in volunteering activities, or seek employment. Your role will involve facilitating engaging training sessions, developing course materials, and offering personalised support to learners, enabling them to make informed decisions about their career paths.

About You

Tutor for Teaching Assistants: You will hold a teaching qualification and will have a wealth of experience delivering accredited level 2 and 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning. It is essential that you have strong subject knowledge and teaching strategies. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds. You will have excellent organisational skills and reliability in managing all aspects of your role.

Tutor for ESOL: You will be responsible for providing exceptional delivery, guidance, and support to learners as they embark on their educational journey. By sharing your expertise and passion for teaching digital skills to ESOL learners, you will empower individuals to pursue further learning opportunities, engage in volunteering activities, or seek employment. Your role will involve facilitating engaging training sessions, developing course materials, and offering personalised support to learners, enabling them to make informed decisions about their career paths.

The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

As part of your Disclosure and Barring Service application you will be expected to register with the Update Service which enables your employer or future employers to carry out an online Status check of your DBS certificate. This removes the requirement to have and pay for another full DBS check, and is a condition of working as a casual in this role. You must sign up with the Update Service within 30 days of receiving your DBS clearance being issued. The cost for annual subscription is £13 which you will be expected to pay.

Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify.
