These include: • 57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)• Generous Occupational Pension Scheme • Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) - worth up to £7,000 over two yearsAbout the roleAs part of our English team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality lessons for our students. Your primary focus will be to develop effective teaching strategies to help our 16-19 students to improve their English skills. You may be required to teach either qualification or both.Your key responsibilities are to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that will motivate and engage a diverse range of students. You will maintain accurate records of student progress to track improvement over time. A key part of the role will be to implement effective use of technology to create an inspiring classroom environment. You will have a passion for continuous improvement regarding outcomes and the student experience.About the personWe are seeking a skilled, versatile and passionate English teacher who will preferably be able to teach across GCSE English Language, A Level Language, Literature or Language & Literature. You will be qualified to Level 3 in English and a degree in English Language, Literature or a related subject would be desirable. You will hold a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (Cert. Ed, PGCE) or a willingness to work towardsWe are looking a strong, committed and conscientious team player, who is organised, a good communicator with excellent subject knowledge.*Staff with Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) via the Society for Education and Training (SET) are eligible to receive an enhanced salary of £42,738 - ask us for further detailsAbout the CollegeWe are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people.
