Summary

Are you an experienced estimator with a passion for accuracy, detail, and adding commercial value?

At Bromford, we’re looking for a driven and skilled individual to join our pre-construction team, playing a key role in producing and maintaining cost plans and estimates that underpin our land acquisition and development decisions. You’ll work at the heart of our land and planning operations, providing financial clarity and strategic insight to support successful scheme delivery.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and updating robust cost plans for a range of housing developments, from early land bid stage through to project delivery. You’ll assess the financial risks and constraints of land opportunities, such as access, levels, drainage, and services, and carry out detailed take-offs for roads, sewers, earthworks, and plot externals. Your role will involve producing plot schedules for mixed tenure sites, collaborating with teams across Land, Commercial, Technical, and Pre-Construction to ensure accuracy and alignment at every stage.

You’ll contribute to land bid submissions with detailed cost appraisals and maintain a pricing database that supports informed decision-making. Sourcing quotes, reviewing specifications and contract documents, and developing robust tender packages will also form a key part of your remit. You’ll track scheme financial performance and actively seek opportunities to improve estimating processes and cost efficiencies. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, embraces collaboration, and is always looking to add value through their commercial insight.

This role is permanent and full time. You can be based from either of our main offices in Chipping Sodbury or Tewkesbury with regular travel across Bristol and Gloucestershire.

You will have:

  • Strong estimating experience, ideally within a commercial housebuilding or construction environment
  • A proven track record in groundworks, drainage, and cost planning
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential development and construction techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on cost accuracy and risk mitigation
  • Proficiency in estimating and take-off software
  • The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Able to complete a basic DBS check as well as have the ability to drive and a full UK driving licence

The closing date is 22 June with 1st stage interviews taking place 27 June.

If you’re ready to be part of a team that shapes the future of our developments and ensures commercial viability from the outset, we’d love to hear from you.
