Summary
Introduction
I am a 35 year old man with learning differences. I love art and craft work, music, dance, theatre and singing. I love praise and friendly chat. I love jokes / humour. I enjoy swimming, going for walks and I keep fit at the gym. I also spend time at home enjoying my flat. Sometimes you will join me with an activity at my flat e.g. playing a game, at other times I may occupy myself, watch TV while you do admin or chores.
You will help me access my regular clubs and activities, cook meals, organise and clean my flat and ensure I live a safe, happy and fulfilling life.
Duties
The work will involve assisting the client to access his day-to-day activities, supervising his personal care, ensuring he takes his medication, helping with shopping, meal preparation, maintaining household chores including changing the bed, cleaning, washing clothes and helping with organisation (wardrobe, maintaining food safety, replacing broken items etc.) , visiting appointments and enabling the client to access all the groups he loves to go to.
The client is a sociable person who leads a very active lifestyle and is engaged with local art, dance, drama and music community groups. He loves musical theatre, day trips, going to the gym, swimming pool and karaoke.
Flexible part-time work, including weekends.
Hours:
Flexible part-time for cover
Some regular Friday night / Saturday and Sunday shifts available
Various hours e.g.
5 hours 5pm – 10:30pm others 8 hours or up to 15 hours.
Rate:
£14.00 per hour plus holiday pay

Essential Requirements
Clear DBS – can apply for this on behalf of applicant
Drivers with an available vehicle would be preferred but not essential.
No smoking/vaping allowed when with the client.
A smart phone is needed and use of What’s App
IT skills needed but some training can be given e.g. WORD, email, internet, Google,
Your own laptop / computer is useful
Confidentiality is essential. Must be patient, enthusiastic, trustworthy and willing to learn, be flexible and work in a person-centred way.
Desired Experience
Previous experience in care/support work is preferred, but if you have the right attitude, willingness to learn and interests in common with the client, please apply.
