Allstaff Office Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Freight Operations Co-ordinator / Administrator based in Renfrew.

We welcome applications from individuals with or without prior experience in logistics. Whether you're an experienced professional or a trainee, you will play a key role in supporting both the sales and operations teams by assisting with the preparation of timely and accurate quotations, coordinating bookings to ensure they align with client timelines, providing administrative and sales support and maintaining general office organisation and housekeeping.
While previous industry experience is advantageous, it is not essential. However, candidates must possess basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, a team player, and eager to learn. The logistics industry is constantly evolving, and a willingness to develop new skills is essential for success in this role.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Take multi modal bookings from customers / overseas partners via phone or email
• Provide solutions, rates and routing to meet service requirements
• Book shipments with suppliers and agree rates or negotiate preferential rates as required
• Create jobs in shipping system – add supplier costs and sales costs
• Invoice and forward to customers via email with supporting documentation
• Sales support, as required, to identify new prospect accounts, develop existing accounts and maintain prospect database
• Liaise with other UK offices as required on operational and accounting matters
• Filing and general office housekeeping duties
Key Skills
• Multi modal experience preferred but not necessary as all training will be provided – Air / Ocean / Road knowledge
• Works well as part of team but also confident to use own initiative
• Good communicator
• Confident to input new ideas
• Ability to react quickly and efficiently to provide service solutions to customers
• Ability to react quickly and efficiently to resolve service issues to customers and with suppliers
• Good organisational skills
• Good IT skills, particularly in Excel for quotations and sales reporting, as required
• Clear telephone manner
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5.30 pm
Salary: from £28,000 p.a. depending on experience
