Job summary:
We are looking for an excellent Leader to support OurSpace childcare’s wraparound provision at Elmhurst School. The Leader will provide play care within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures. They will lead the day to day running of the club, including face to face delivery, with support from the Manager, Administrator and the Director.
Hours:
Term Time, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 14:30- 18:00. The role also includes holiday club care.
Responsible for: Playworkers and volunteers.
Working relationships:
Children attending the club and their parents or carers
Club management, club staff and volunteers
Schools, childcare and play organisations, registering authorities
Main duties include:
Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment, meeting the EYFS framework.
Providing comprehensive care for the children
Providing support and supervision to playworkers and volunteers.
Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures, and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Person specification
Essential qualities
Appropriate Level 3 qualification
Experience working with children with SEND.
Experience of working with 4 to 14 year olds
Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
Personable, loveable and passionate about children and childcare.
Desirable qualities
Appropriate safeguarding training
Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate
Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
