About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Roofer to join our team, delivering high-quality solar photovoltaic installations to residential and SME customers. This role focuses on safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service, contributing to the wider goals of sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport equipment to and from installation sites, including waste disposal.
- Arrive punctually at customer locations and maintain communication regarding any schedule changes.
- Conduct pre-work checks and contribute to risk assessments.
- Remove and adapt roof tiles to accommodate solar panel systems.
- Measure and install mounting rails and solar panels safely and accurately.
- Assist electricians by fitting conduit and routing cables from roof to ground level.
- Ensure the site is clean and tidy post-installation.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and in good condition.
- Follow all health and safety protocols and report any incidents or hazards.
- Assess scaffold safety and report any concerns.
Role Requirements
- Home-based with regular travel within a 90-minute radius.
- Flexibility to travel further when required.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work collaboratively.
- Quick decision-making with a strong emphasis on safety.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- In-depth knowledge of residential roofing materials and construction.
- Experience with solar roof-integrated systems.
- Hands-on experience with domestic solar PV installations.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., Working at Height, ladder safety, asbestos awareness).
- Familiarity with SHEQ practices in the solar industry.
- Comfortable working at height and using ladders.
- Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 points).
Desirable:
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
- Understanding of DC cabling and panel testing.
- QCF-aligned Solar PV or roofing qualification.
