About the role
Due to an internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen in the Education and Quality Assurance Team.

The Education and Quality Assurance Team are primarily responsible for approval and ongoing quality assurance of approved programmes in Scotland. We are rolling out improvements in the way we deliver quality assurance to approved programmes and developments to facilitate closer and more effective working relationships with programme providers and key stakeholders.

If you are the successful candidate, you will work alongside us to regulate, approve and reapprove social work qualifying programmes, childhood practice degree programmes and specialist awards for registered practitioners.

In addition to our quality assurance function, we play a key role in progressing a variety of ongoing projects related to Continuing Professional Learning (CPL), the Newly Qualified Social Workers Supported Year, and the development of local learning partnerships and post-qualifying pathways for social workers.

In this role, you will contribute to busy and ambitious workplan. You will collaborate closely with universities, government bodies, local authorities, and third-sector organisations, helping to shape and drive the future of social work practice, childhood practice and specialist qualifications.

Who we are
We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and children and young people services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.

We protect the public by registering people working in social work, social care and children and young people services, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.

What you need to succeed
An understanding of our regulatory function and the codes of practice
An ability to work collaboratively with partners but also challenge appropriately where necessary
An understanding of quality assurance methodology
Professional curiosity and creativity
A positive outlook and ‘can do’ approach
An ability to think outside the box and work under pressure.
Why work for us
We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service).

You can find out more about the benefits of working here on our website.

Our office is in Dundee, and we have an agile working policy that supports office and remote working arrangements, depending on the requirements of each job, which we are happy to discuss with candidates. All staff are required to attend the office at times for example, for meetings, training, staff events.
