Crynodeb
The Radio Station Manager is responsible for the overall running and management of AFG’s radio station ensuring that the station achieves the highest standards of content production through creative leadership.
Working in collaboration with the People We Support and key stakeholders such as other support providers and professionals you will lead on the day to day operations of the station.
Principal Accountabilities
Oversee the daily operations for the radio station, including all aspects of programming and staffing
Setting briefs for shows and projects, working closely with the people we support to develop engaging content that resonates with our audience
Co-ordinate with on-air talent and production teams to ensure high quality broadcast standards
Develop and implement strategies to increase audience engagement
Generate ideas for compelling and diverse content that meets the needs and interests of our listeners
Develop and implement strategies to increase audience engagement
Working with the radio team on playlist, guest strategy, implementation, and industry relationships.
Working on wider company projects around Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion and commercial strategy, including collaboration with other agencies within the health and social care sector.
Analysing audience metrics and providing feedback to inform programming decisions and strategy
Keeping on top of talent trends and relationships with existing and potential on-air/ online talent and agents.
Fostering relationships with local businesses, organisations and communities to enhance station visibility and collaboration
Working closely with the marketing team to promote the station
Act as the public face of the station, representing the station at community events, meetings etc
Responding to commercial or partnership opportunity briefs and coordinating their implementation on air and online.
Sourcing funding and grant opportunities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards

Excellent editorial judgement and detailed knowledge of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code

Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in radio broadcasting
At least 2 years’ experience of leadership and management
Experience of co-production with people with a disability
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements
Demonstratable experience of process improvement to make efficiencies across the organisation through automation of processes
Proficiency in audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, and confident using Adobe Creative Cloud
Experience of radio playout systems and studio broadcasting equipment
Experience in developing or contributing to business cases and options appraisals

Due to occasional travel being involved we require a driver with the use of a vehicle.
This role is Band I as per our structure.
