Summary
Develop and maintain comprehensive rotas for all staff, including nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts. Process and manage leave requests, shift swaps, and other scheduling adjustments promptly and equitably. Ensure all rotas comply with relevant policies. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff regarding rota-related queries, updates, and changes. Communicate shift assignments and any changes to staff in a timely and clear manner. Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, absences, and other relevant data. Prepare and present reports on staffing levels, shift patterns, and other key metrics to management. Identify and address staffing gaps, arranging for locum or temporary staff as necessary to ensure continuous patient care. Work closely with senior nursing management, HR, and other departments to ensure effective rota management. Participate in staff and management meetings related to rota and staffing issues. Utilize rota management software to create and manage schedules efficiently. Provide training and support to staff on using scheduling systems as required. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of rota management practices and suggest improvements. Gather and incorporate feedback from staff to enhance scheduling processes. Support the induction process for new staff members, ensuring they understand rota systems and scheduling expectations. Stay updated with best practices in rota management and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and staff satisfaction.
