More detail about the role The Macmillan Cancer Care Counsellor is responsible for the clinical assessments of referrals made into the service and ensuring that referrals accepted are within the parameters of the service criteria, providing clinical supervision to the Cancer Care Counselling Team, Student Counsellors and Chemotherapy Unit Staff such as Chemo Nurses and HCAs. This role also oversees the triaging of all referrals made into the service and 1-1 clinical work with clients who have been assessed as displaying high psychological distress. This role works proactively in the continual development of the North Devon Cancer Care Counselling service, and is responsible for setting key performance indicators and service objectives. Working Pattern: Monday - Thursday 7:30-16:30pm (negotiable) Interview Date: To Be Confirmed Pay:The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
