Are you a skilled winder with hands-on experience in AC/DC motors, stators, and transformers? Join our expert team and help deliver high-quality rewind and refurbishment services to clients across a range of sectors. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Winder to support our growing workshop operations. You’ll play a key role in the diagnosis, repair, and rewinding of electric motors and components, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance for every job.

My client is an established engineering manufacturing firm based in Leicester and commutable from Leicester, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Syston, Scraptoft and Queniborough. They are currently looking for a skilled Winder to join their team.


Key Responsibilities: Winder

- Perform rewinding and refurbishment of AC and DC motors, stators, armatures, and transformers.
- Handle both low-voltage and high-voltage winding projects with precision and care.
- Identify faults and damage in motor windings and determine whether to repair or replace.
- Work accurately to technical drawings and specifications to rewind coils and other components.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety regulations.
- Support emergency repair and breakdown services as part of the on-call rota.
- Collaborate with workshop and engineering teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.


Required Skills & Experience: Electrical Motor Rewind Specialist

- Proven hands-on experience in electrical winding, including AC and DC motors, stators, armatures, and transformers.
- Solid understanding of winding techniques, insulation methods, and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical safety protocols, PPE use, and workshop best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under time constraints.
- Good verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and willing to participate in out-of-hours call-out rota when required.


The Package: Winder

- Base Salary £16.50 per hour
- Day shifts 8am-5pm Mon-Fri 40 hour week
- Additional overtime and on-call work opportunities
- 31 days holiday including Bank Holidays
- Pension scheme
