Locum AMHP – Out of Hours Service (Children’s Experience Required)
Intro:
Are you a qualified AMHP with children’s social work experience? 3D Recruit is looking for a Generic Locum AMHP to join an Out of Hours service, providing critical mental health interventions during evenings and nights. This flexible role offers a chance to make a difference during high-risk hours while working on a shift basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake statutory duties as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended).
Respond to mental health crises, carrying out assessments and coordinating with appropriate services for emergency interventions.
Apply professional judgement in high-pressure situations, often outside regular working hours.
Utilise experience in children’s social work where cases involve children or families.
Liaise with emergency services, health professionals, and social care teams to ensure safe and lawful outcomes.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal requirements and service standards.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with AMHP accreditation.
Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Demonstrable children’s social work experience.
Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act and relevant safeguarding legislation.
Flexibility and resilience to work unsociable hours (typically 6pm–6am).
Right to work in the UK.
Pay & Hours:
Rate: £43 per hour (via umbrella).
Shifts: No guaranteed hours; however, worker is likely to cover 2 x 12-hour night shifts per week (6pm–6am).
